- Chill it properly. Two to three hours in the fridge, or 20 minutes in ice water with a handful of salt. A still drink has no fizz to distract you, so temperature matters more.
- Use one big cube. A single large cube in a highball or a stemless wine glass melts slowly and won't water it down.
- Garnish for real. Run a peeler down a cucumber and curl the ribbon inside the glass, then squeeze in a fresh lime wedge.
- Pair it with food. Sushi, ceviche, grilled chicken, sharp cheddar or anything off the barbecue.
